The Association des Cinéastes Européens, registered in France, is a professional film industry association with the following objectives:
- To Promote the Dissemination and Exchange of European Film Culture: Organizing film festivals, salons, forums, and other events to facilitate interaction and collaboration among European filmmakers, producers, distributors, and audiences.
- To Support Innovation and Diversity in the Film Industry: Providing support for young directors, independent producers, and innovative film projects to foster the diversity and growth of cinematic art.
- To Establish an International Collaboration Platform: Building a network of industry partnerships across Europe and worldwide to promote European cinema in the global market and encourage cultural exchange.
- To Advocate for Sustainable Development in the Industry: Promoting sustainable practices in film production and distribution to ensure the healthy and responsible growth of the sector.
Association Activities:
The Association des Cinéastes Européens organizes various events, including the Golden Unicorn Film Award as part of the European World Film Festival. This prestigious award aims to recognize and promote outstanding achievements in European and global cinema, encompassing diverse genres and categories such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the association hosts a variety of forums, seminars, screenings, and other events, providing a vital platform for exchange and collaboration within the European film industry.
Membership Services of the Association:
- Access to Industry Information: Members can stay updated with the latest film projects, industry trends, and market information, ensuring they remain well-informed in the dynamic film industry.
- Professional Development and Networking: The association organizes various professional training, forums, and networking events, offering members valuable opportunities to enhance their skills and expand their industry connections.
- Collaborative Opportunities: Members can explore new collaboration opportunities through the association’s initiatives, fostering partnerships with other filmmakers, producers, and industry professionals across Europe and beyond.
- Support for Members Outside Europe: The association provides specialized services for international members, including consultations on European filming policies, assistance with filming partnerships, and information on available European film funding programs.
Review Criteria:
To become a member of the Association des Cinéastes Européens, film professionals who wish to join must meet certain criteria and undergo a review and recommendation process. In addition to European film professionals, individuals from other regions can apply to become overseas members.
Applicants must have professional experience and achievements in the film industry, such as directors, screenwriters, producers, actors, etc.
The application process includes submitting a personal resume, at least one film or short film, recommendation letters, and other materials, all of which will be reviewed and decided upon by the association’s review committee.
Successful applicants will gain access to a variety of services and resources provided by the association and become part of the Association des Cinéastes Européens family.
Membership Application and Review:
- Self-Introduction: Please provide a personal resume including your name, nationality, educational background, film production experience, and other relevant information.
- Work Showcase: Submit at least one feature film or short film. If you are a student or a young filmmaker who graduated within the last two years, you may submit works made during your studies or recent projects.
- Recommendation Letter or Professional Certification: Please provide at least one recommendation letter or relevant professional certification to demonstrate your expertise and integrity in the film industry.
- Membership Fees: The membership fees for the first year are divided into two categories based on your status:
- Non-European international members: The first-year review fee is €2,133 (16,000 CNY), with an annual fee of €1,067 (8,000 CNY) thereafter.
- To encourage young filmmakers: Students and young filmmakers under 25 or those who have graduated within the last two years will pay a first-year review fee of €1,067 (8,000 CNY), with an annual fee of €1,067 (8,000 CNY) thereafter.
